The Habsworld podcast boys (Paul MacLeod, Jonathan Rebello, Norm Szcyrek) are back to talk Habs. The last few weeks of Canadiens games were discussed, along with some reminiscing about past Habs injuries, and an in depth discussion based on a forum question about the Habs youngsters and who we have the highest hopes for succeeding. We also talked about a few of the struggling Habs players, the handling/mishandling of Greg Pateryn, a post game analysis of the then just completed home victory over Carolina, the Las Vegas expansion team with regards to the Habs mandatory protected players, a little about some non-hockey topics, and more. The 2016-17 season premiere of the Habsworld podcast had the full crew in attendance. Hosts Jonathan Rebelo, Paul Macleod joined Norm Szcyrek to discuss the Canadiens strong start to the season after the first dozen games. Is it too soon to celebrate their success, or do Montreal fans need to take a wait-and-see approach? The newcomers to the team were all discussed, including Shea Weber, Andrew Shaw, Alexander Radulov, Arturi Lehkonnen, and Al Montoya. We also talked about the embarrassing 10-0 loss against Columbus, the demotion of rookie Mikhail Sergachev, the cold and hot streaks of a few Habs players, and a few discussions about topics around the NHL. The Habs offseason has been an emotional one, and this edition of the Habsworld podcast has it covered. Hosts Norm Szcyrek, Paul Macleod and Jonathan Rebelo discussed several topics, including an in depth look at the blockbuster PK Subban for Shea Weber trade, the acquisition of Andrew Shaw, the departure of Lars Eller, associate coach Kirk Muller's return to Montreal and the impact he may have, along with free agent signings of Alexander Radulov , Al Montoya and Zach Redmond. The hosts also shared some thoughts on the Habs first round draft pick Mikhail Sergachev and talked about which players may surprise and end up starting next season in Montreal. The Canadiens 2015-16 season is finally over, and the Habsworld gang of Norm Szcyrek, Jonathan Rebelo and Paul Macleod performed their post-mortum of the team. Topics included the mishandling of Carey Price, the mismanagement by Montreal's coaches, the future of PK Subban, and playoff discussions. HabsWorld hosts Norm Szcyrek, Jonathan Rebelo and Paul Macleod suffered from deja vu, talking about the Carey Price re-injury and its impact on the Habs, as well as the impact of the Brendan Gallagher & other Habs injuries. Several topics were discussed including the performance of the call up players (Andrighetto, Holloway , Thomas, Carr), the upcoming Winter Classic game, power play improvements, the recent play of Alex Galchenyuk, Nathan Beaulieu's latest fight in Columbus which lead to an interesting debate on concussions and fighting in the NHL. We also spent time reminscing about the 20 year anniversary of the Patrick Roy trade and its' impact on the Canadiens, and a few interesting topics in Around The NHL. The topic of will Montreal defeat Tampa was the focus of our discussions, but there were also some lively discussions about the likelihood of Carey Price and PK Subban winning the NHL trophies they're up for, as well as some talk about the other three playoff series in the second round.
